I often find that Children express stress through acting out behaviors, isolation, or self-harm behaviors. I use cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), mindfulness and art therapy to help children develop effective coping skills and ways to regulate themselves. I help children find their voice to express their needs and emotions, improve self-esteem and navigate life challenges. When possible, I involve parents in treatment to help parents understand and address the challenges that their children face. By participating in treatment, parents are also able to reinforce the learning children do in therapy and provide ongoing support.
